I am tired at the end of the day and perhaps I should be writing to jog my memory but I got lots of pics to do that. We have done so much. My recommendations to those who are gong on a long trip, and I consider 4 months and a week a long trip.
Don’t over pack; plan your trip but know the plans will change quite often.
Don’t hurry. Hopefully you have all the time you want. I suggest 2 nights, 2 nights to travel and then 4-5 or even 6 nights at a destination. We did 1 night a lot, then only 3 or 4 nights at a destination and we were too rushed.
Definitely bring a car (we didn’t). Either tow one or pull a trailer or 5th wheel on your truck. There are a lot of mountains you can’t go up with a 5th wheel we did fine with a 31ft class C camper but we may get a smaller class C for future trips.
This country is a large magnificent beautiful place pick the spots that appeal to you and go!
