Driving away from heat

On to Wichita Falls RV park in Texas.  The driving views are amazing, got lots of pics. Lucky me, Brad prefers to do all the driving. (Maybe it’s less nerve wracking for him to drive than be a passenger with me driving?  I don’t have the best reputation)   We got there, no shade, took 2 hours for RV to cool down. Decided to only stay one night instead of two so we could keep fleeing the heat.

So, onward to Caprock Canyons State Park in TX. The Real Feel is still 100F-120F out. This time when we had a snack during the day and we put on the generator to run the air conditioner while we ate in a diner. We are also carrying a Mitzvah so she doesn’t burn her paws. Shout out to my friend Lee who advised me when Mitzvah was a puppy to carry her around so if ever needed, she’d be used to it.

This park (Caprock) is amazing. There are bison here! I was not going to walk in the heat but then Brad came back from his 20″ walk with pictures of prairie dogs and the canyon. So I went, heat be damned, and was thrilled I did. We walked through a prairie dog field, saw them up close, heard them chattering to one another. Another highlight of my life. I had read an article about prairie dogs which told how their language is advanced as ours, they use adjectives, so they were talking about us and our small dog telling each other if we were dangerous or not. So awesome!!!  We went up a path overlooking the first canyons we’ve come to. Wonderful. Carried Mitzvah a lot as the area was too hot for her paws.  This place is great, just my advise is to tour the south in the spring or winter.
