So very, very hot and worried about leaving Mitzvah in the RV. Twice the campsite fuse went out and we lost power, and air conditioning. We went for a short visit to Zilker Botanical Gardens. The temperature was around 100 F and a Real Feel of 120. The gardens were not worth it. I think we should have gone to a movie instead. Oh well. Back to the RV early, I convinced Brad that we had to drive away from this heat.
Change in plans and now it is time to drive, stay a night! Drive, stay a night, repeat until we reach cooler temperatures. The first night, still in TX, we stayed at Dinosaur Valley State Park. Another great state park. Lots of families here and there were tents next to the RV’s. A different setup from most campgrounds. Usually they segregate RV’s from tents. A nice path in woods, where we then found precarious route down to a shallow river. Or maybe it was a creek. The water was only an inch deep and as hot as the air temperature. It was fun, even though It was tough getting back up.
A Rainy Drive into Georgia by Curleyshirley June 5, 2017 TRAVEL & ADVENTURE The walk in the woods was uneventful. No creeks here, although we actually walked up…
The campground was a pretty interesting place, but it was much further from downtown than they claimed. But it was also a wide open one with little shade.
