We visited the World War 2 Museum today. A cannot miss if you are anywhere near New Orleans. We skipped the 4D movie beforehand as I am a bit prone to sensory overload, nothing major but enough to keep me away from 4D experiences. I’ve been told it is awesome and a “do not miss” experience but..
This museum is more of a 2 day place to take it all in but we got most of it today, with a lunch break in their nice restaurant. We had crawfish fritters and we each had a bowl of gumbo. Very good.
I was surprised at how vast the war was – I thought I knew, but I didn’t. I think you could only know if you lived through it. My dad served in the Pacific in the navy as a Sea Bee. That is, he built, so the army could move in to fight. He was also a cook. My mom died very recently, I am sorry I can’t tell her all I saw. I learned a lot as I never realized how many Pacific island battles there were.
It was a good day to go there as it rained again. Recommendation if you go, get your ticket beforehand, see the 4D movie if you can, and do try the restaurant.
